The Sabbath of Work

Author: Trenton

I'm just astounded at the title I just came up with. I thought it was supposed to be the sabbath of rest? Well, that's what this blog entry is all about. Unfortunately for many, rest is not in their thinking, when in reference to the Good News. Part of that good news is doing away with the works of the LAW. Not that the LAW is not Holy (Romans 7:12Open Link in New Window), or that it has no value, GOD FORBID (Romans 3:31Open Link in New Window, Galatians 3:21Open Link in New Window). But, in all too many cases, it is used unlawfully (1 Timothy 1:8Open Link in New Window). There are many who believe that the feasts of the Lord are still binding to us today. They won't proclaim that we need to partake of them to be saved, but you have to wonder if they think it. They do claim that they are the appointed times of God, and that we should not ignore God's appointed times for approaching Him, like somehow we can only approach Him on those days.

Keep in mind, while reading this, that it is written in a mindset that is not against doing the sabbath, but against burdening people with the sabbath, or the feasts.  When I say burden, I am of course referring to making it a requirement that we must partake in those days as physical days.  (Acts 15:1,24Open Link in New Window)

Sinless Perfection Part 2

Author: Trenton

Since my last blog entry on Sinless Perfection, a huge discussion appeared on RevivalSchool.com, about sinless perfection. What an interesting coincidence. You can read the entire thread if you like. Take note that I am LarryC. Basically it started out with a Detroit holiness preacher writing an article on The Fatal Trap of Holiness Preaching. After that, all hell broke loose to try and destroy it. No doubt that the devil was angry.

Seeing that I touched on Sinless Perfection in another blog entry. I don't want to spend too much time on trying to refute the Sinless Perfection doctrine, as we most certainly should put some focus on holiness as well. Especially considering that a person is not even saved if they do not have a regenerated heart, which automatically desires to be Holy. However, considering that it is so dangerous, I will continue with some more arguments from scripture, that make it clear that we will not be sinlessly perfect, until The Day Of The Lord.

Sinless Perfection

Author: Trenton

On one hand, I've kind of always understood how people can believe in sinless perfection. On the other, I don't quite get it. Yes, it's sometimes unclear what the scriptures teach on things like this, because so many scripture indicate that if we sin at all, we will perish. Yet other scripture teach that we will not be completely redeemed, and will always have a war with the flesh, until Christ returns, and transforms us in the twinkling of an eye. Take this scripture for instance...
