2008 God’s Final Witness

This is the title of a book, written by a man who is part of the Worldwide Church of God. He believes that he is one of the two witnesses, and that he is not allowed to reveal the second witness, until the appointed time.

This man does not believe that Jesus is God. He believes that Jesus had a beginning, and His beginning was when He was conceived in Mary. This is clearly not true, and you can read the truth in my Deity of Christ Proofing. His reasoning for many of his false doctrines is astounding. It's like the guy doesn't even read the bible or something, yet it seems like he knows a lot about the text of the bible. i.e. He knows the text, but does not know the person of the text.

Anyhow, he claims that come April 2008, the end of the world will begin, and we'll be ushered into the last 3.5 years of the tribulation, all ending in 2011-2012 with Christ's return. Furthermore, it will supposedly culminate to the destruction of the US near the end of 2008. He admits openly that if it does not come true, that he is a false prophet, and there is no way out of it.

There's an aspect to this that is very important to understand. I am saying this because I want to warn people about this man, even if his prophecies do come true. Just because a person prophesies something that comes to pass, does not mean that they are a true prophet of God. There are basically two conditions to measure whether one should heed what they say. One is that it must come true, particularly if it's a prophesy of something good. Prophesies of judgment can be stopped, by repentance. The other aspect is that even if the prophecy is true, you must determine whether they are trying to lead you away to follow another God. See Deuteronomy 13.

Deuteronomy 13:1-3 (KJV) If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul

Being that the man who wrote 2008 God's final witness does not believe that Yashua is God, shows that he is leading people to serve ANOTHER god. So, even if bad things started happening in April this year, continuing throughout the year, with the down fall of the US being the end result by the end of the year, does not mean he is a prophet of God. He must ALSO believe and preach truth about who God is, and lead us to Him, and this man is not doing that. In fact, he said straight out that he expects people to follow him, when these things start to come to pass. Any true prophet will direct you to God, not themselves.

However, I do believe that the judgment of America is nigh, and even has already started. What I do not believe is that it will finish by the end of 2008.

Further, it is interesting to note that many religions have prophecies that their Messiah is coming back in 2012, or that Christ's return is in 2012. Also, some lost societies have calendars that end in 2012. Is this a ploy of the enemy, to try and cause us to accept the anti-Christ as the coming messiah? Who knows, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
