It is quite improbable indeed that some of the trumpets and some of the corresponding vials are two different events/plagues. For example it is unlikely that the rivers of the Euphrate will be dried up twice so that great armies can pass though it. It could be that the trumpets are the warning and start of the plagues while the vials are the full accomplishment of them (after all some of the plagues are not just for a moment but will take some time to happen, for example the drying up of the Euphrate). Or it could be that the trumpets are the plagues seen from a believer/warning perspective (with maybe repentance still available), while the vials are seen from a judgement/unrepentant perspective. Good stuff…
